Meet Waddling Walter, a line following robot that uses three IR sensors and an Arduino Uno to maneuver various tracks. Walter is modeled after a kids toy in an attempt to garner an interest in STEM for kids from a young age. Check out the final design proposal linked below.

Waddling Walter, a line following robot

Project goals and process

Our team was tasked with designing and creating a line following robot using an Arduino Uno, 3D printed wheels, and IR sensors to navigate a technical track on test day. As a greater project goal, the team decided that our robot should be targeted at youth who may have a budding interest in STEM.

My Role

I acted as the Lead Designer for this project. I was in charge of the ideation process, and physical design and assembly of the robot. Much of this role included fine tuning of physical components to compliment the code. Project documentation and reports were also accompanying this work, and allowed for the team to work together on multiple aspects of the design at once.
